Senator Nasiru Sani Zangon Daura has underscored that the security issue he presented to the assembly is a collective concern for all representatives from Katsina State, rather than a personal matter.

Addressing journalists in Abuja, Senator Zangon Daura emphasised that security issues affect everyone. This is why he presented the matter to the assembly on behalf of all Katsina State representatives. He stressed that the issue represents the collective concern of the state's populace, as legislators are the people's representatives.

Senator Zangon Daura further noted that similar initiatives are being undertaken in other assemblies nationwide, mirroring the motion he presented on the security crisis.

“In Katsina State, everyone is aware that the Governor is tirelessly working day and night to address this issue. Anyone speaking truthfully will acknowledge this,” stated Nasiru Sani Zangon Daura.

He continued by explaining that all efforts are aimed at establishing peace and security in the state. The security problem in Katsina is not isolated but part of a broader issue affecting the entire northern region. Even now, the situation persists across various regions in the country.

"In the northern part of Katsina, which I represent, the situation is relatively better. However, in central and southern Katsina, as well as in Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, and Niger States, the security challenges are significant. Previously, the focus was on the North East with Boko Haram, but now the crisis has shifted to the North West."

The governors of the North West are spending vast amounts of money to combat this issue, especially in supporting security personnel. Despite these substantial expenditures, the problem remains unresolved, causing ongoing distress among the populace. Colleagues from Katsina State, such as Senator Muktar Dandutse and Senator Abdul'Aziz Yar'adua, frequently report incidents of abductions and other security issues, underscoring the urgent need for a solution.
